We have been given quite an array of assignments working with the University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine; capturing a variety of both style and subject matter to appease their needs. Elation streaked across our faces when we were asked to tour Lake Nona and provide an artistic rendering of the newly built community.

A variety of home styles and structures exist within this region. We started on the North end and traveled through NorthLake Park, a community which sits on a hefty portion of land [500 acres to be exact] and boasts “excellent amenities including an award-winning A-rated elementary school, YMCA, and a neighborhood dog park.”

The Laureate Park community was still under construction as we were passing through but the style of homes found in this Eastern region seemed to gratify the most modern architects taste. From surprising colors on the homes to the futuristic features of this district, you can be sure your jaw will drop as you wander through.

To be a truly modern community restaurants and retailers should be easily accessible from your home. Not only has Lake Nona met this need, they have designed the buildings to mesh with the style of the area and provided a beautiful central location for the surrounding residents.

We then ventured toward the crowning jewel… Medical City. Perched on the southern end of Lake Nona is a workhorse of brilliant minds coupled with technology.

It’s been called a new chapter in Orlando’s history. The 650-acre health and life sciences park…is a landmark for Orlando and a premier location for medical care, research and education. Carefully planned and laid out, Lake Nona Medical City represents a deliberate strategy to create a centralized focus of sophisticated medical treatment, research and education in Central Florida.

Based on the proven theory that a cluster of healthcare and bioscience facilities in proximity to one another will accelerate innovation, this intellectual hub opened in a coordinated fashion with a collaborative mission. In the next decade, Lake Nona Medical City will be home to some of the nation’s top hospitals, universities, research institutions and life science companies. But already, the Medical City’s pioneering institutions are forming networks and synergies making Orlando a global destination for health care, research and medical education while creating an economic development and job creation engine for the region.

Nemours Children Hospital
Nemours brings their comprehensive children’s healthcare and research capabilities to the forefront of the emerging health and science sector of Central Florida. It also strategically places Nemours Children’s Hospital and research campus within walking distance of the other influential institutions, facilities and companies located within Lake Nona Medical City, increasing the potential for beneficial collaboration.

Veteran’s Affair Hospital
The VA Medical Center at Lake Nona will be the first VA hospital to be built in the United States since 1995. The medical center will include at 134-bed inpatient diagnostic and treatment hospital, a 118-bed nursing home, a 60-bed domiciliary, an outpatient clinic, a veterans benefit mini service center and generous patient and visitor parking.

Sanford | Burnham Medical Research Institute
For more than 30 years, Sanford-Burnham has conducted world-class collaborative research dedicated to finding cures for disease and improving quality of life. The company selected Lake Nona as its site for a new east coast research facility and will employ over 300 scientists.

UF Research Center
The University of Florida, the oldest and largest public university in the state has decided to locate a research facility at Lake Nona Medical City. The 100,000 square-foot facility will be located next to the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute at Lake Nona and will enable the university to have direct collaboration opportunities with Sanford-Burnham Institute’s top scientists.

We had such a grand afternoon exploring this new community in Orlando and strongly recommend each and every one of you to take a drive to this incredible place. All information provided in this article was taken from the Learn Lake Nona website and can provide additional details to the curious reader.

It seems little girls tend to dominate our blog posts as of late, but today we are thrilled to share the play date we had with two handsome brothers, Jake & Luke. Boys interact with you much differently than girls! The need to constantly be moving and doing seems to be built into their genes. Mom and Dad were quite the amazing duo as they seemed to have a magical ability for entertaining the kids while focusing on the cameras.

We met in downtown Baldwin Park where we walked the neighborhood exploring different spots. Jake was running this way and that, asking questions and naming the color of cars as they went by. Luke happily sat on his mother’s hip watching his older brother scurry about.

What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails and puppy-dogs’ tails,
That’s what little boys are made of.

These two didn’t even know what the other was doing, they both just thought their mom and dad needed to have a tiny hand exploring their face. So inquisitive these brothers!

Gorgeous Family Photograph!

This was such a fun moment to capture. Jake went into such a giggle fit as his dad held him upside down. His laughter captivated the entire family sending genuine smiles to each of their faces.

Towards the end of our session, tired babes met with frustration, and as we pushed to get a final location we were met with defeat. Although this image makes me laugh every time! Little Brother starts to cry, followed by Big Brother. Little brother looks in puzzlement to his Big brother wondering what he’s crying about. Click goes the camera.

Thank you so much Showalters! We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed spending time with you all and getting to know the boys. We sincerely look forward to working with you again. If you would like to see even more images, Like us on Facebook and breeze through the album.

Nate + Kristy’s Engagement | Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort | Orlando, FL

Their love was genuine and honest. Their side glances and small smiles held secrets. Laughter was found in every crevice. They were without reservation and harbored complete trust. And we meet Nate and Kristy…

The Grand Floridian Resort encompasses all that you could dream of in the Florida of yore. The collosal hotel has every detail pinned, from the chandeliers that dangle in the lobby, to the corners of the porch lattice; you are immersed into this world and you believe. That is one of my favorite aspects of Disney. And it may also be why our adorable couple wanted to incorporate this place into their engagement.

As photographers, we yearn for couples who aren’t afraid to show the world how much they adore one another. This is not as easy of a task as it sounds…especially when onlookers and passerbys oodle and coo over you and your fiancé. As the images show quite clearly, the only two people in Nate and Kristy’s world were each other.

Such a beautiful and sweet love.

Welcoming all guests at the entrance of the resort are two modes of vintage transportation. A horse drawn carriage and a classic car.

Car wins, hands down.
It just doesn’t get any sexier than this.

Surrounding the Grand Floridian is an expansive waterway system that provides alternative transportation to guests. It also creates spectacular views and brings a sense of serenity to the air. Perched on the edge of the shores is a small restaurant called Narcoossee’s. On a warm evening, not to distant in the past, a walk down to the dock after dinner was in order. A knee was taken, and a promise was said allowed.

Her reply was agreement.

In the days to follow, there will be chaos; time will seem to evaporate. Hold fast to your adoration of one another, and remember to pause and reflect on life’s every moments and it will surely see you through.

Thank you once again Nate & Kristy. Your trust, friendship, and support has been so greatly appreciated. We look forward to working with you all in the near future! If you cannot get enough of these two and want to see more, simply head over to Facebook and look through their album!

Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. ~Niccolo Machiavelli

Solislux, like so many other fabulous dream-makers in the world has found a reason to put our necks on the line for an idea that we so passionately believe in. We had the pleasure of meeting two ladies who believe in their company just as we do! So read on and learn a little bit more about Gifts, Frames & More!

I started this online business after juggling a twenty plus year career in the telecommunications industry as a marketing executive, and being a mom and homemaker. My interests have always been to seek out just the right gift for this person, or something really special for that location in my home, or just the right venue for a corporate event. This is what has lead me to Gifts, Frames, and More which is my new creative outlet and my full time business.

Ms. Barbara
Owner/Founder

Jacqueline and I had the pleasure of photographing the many wonderful gifts! The creativity and simplicity of these items is what had us so fascinated. We ooh-ed and aww-ed over every item before discerning the correct location for it’s closeup. The picture frames are magnetized so you can quickly and easily change an image out once you grow tired of it. The decorations around the images are completely changeable depending on the season or your relationship with the subject matter. One of my personal favorites were the wine bottle racks. They were shaped to look like a cat or dog and made such a beautiful piece to hold your favorite bottle of Merlot.

The shopping experience is easy too! You can order online or host a party with your friends! Visit Gifts, Frames & More to check out there unique offerings or to see if you can find our images! Show your support for the elite group of women entrepreneurs by liking their Facebook page!

Keep up the great work ladies and thank you for your support!

Sweet Lullabies.

She was so new; so tiny, with perfect fingers and perfect toes. Her desires were simply to be nurtured and loved. Sleepily she would say hi, but only for a moment, and then it was back to dream world once more. This is baby Dallas, and it is with great pleasure that we introduce you to her.

To photograph newborns takes much patience. Each move you make is fought, and your only prayer as the photographer is that you do not wake them from their slumber. Dallas put up a most notable cause, but as you can see from her extraordinary pictures, in the end we won. :)

A little ballerina. She dances her way into the hearts of all who know her.

A little blue and white headband to match her namesake’s football team. It is a nod to her father who picked out her name. She was constantly bathed in beautiful sunlight. The sweet lip will soon be a faded memory and it is moments like these that we strive so hard to capture.

Happy Birthday Dallas! We hope that you will grow strong and wise and only see happy days. Love, Ashley & Jacqueline

The morning was chilly when we met up with Yeni and Catherine. It had been a little more than a year since the last time we had met. It is amazing how much a child can change in just one year! She has grown taller and is getting really good grades in school. She likes her teacher but was looking forward to the weekend to be with her mom.

A daughter is a mother’s gender partner, her closest ally in the family confederacy, an extension of her self. ~Author Unknown

I love this image. It represents all that we look for in our mothers: strength, beauty, wisdom, and some one to always lean on.

The girls played along the sidewalk of downtown, walking along as we followed en suite. The relationship these two have is so incredible. Catherine is lucky to have such a nurturing fun loving mom! :)

Towards the end of the morning they both began to tire. As they sat on a bench resting their feet we took the opportunity to grab a few more pictures. How could we not, they are both so gorgeous! We would like to thank Yeni and Catherine for meeting up with us and letting us capture this unique time in their relationship. We wish you both good fortune and can’t wait to see you again!

Chelsea appeared before us tagging along with her Mommy and Daddy as we gazed with adoring eyes. Two petite pigtails draped on each side as her black polka dot sundress swayed with each determined step. At the end of her extended limbs was a pink and grey baby stroller and in its flower embroidered seat was a rosy Hello Kitty; hot pink bow in her hair and rainbow sneakers on her feet.

As her chocolate eyes met ours, she immediately slowed her pace and shortened her strides. Like most three-year-olds Chelsea was shy and wary of our new faces, unsure of our purpose. Despite a quiet, timid demeanor we knew to utilize a super-secret weapon which always seems to have the magic touch on tenacious toddlers.

Mom.

When in doubt you’ll find that Mommy always holds the key to the giggle factory. She who knows her baby best is always our greatest accomplice when working through the kinks of first timers. Comically enough, once we had opened the door precious Chelsea was eager to share her teeth-y grins for the remaining duration of our shoot.

Armed with a beautiful smile she took us on an animated prance towards the nearest playground, an exciting oasis for little beans her age. Chelsea was focused, moving with great sureness that her running legs wouldn’t allow her to miss a beat. My how her tiny limbs scuttled with enthusiastic vigor as she skipped over her daddy’s darkened shadows toward the towering yellow slides. It was evident then that Chelsea was very independent when her shyness was shed; very independent when she was on the move.

Something about those glistening yellow slides kept that magical grin glued to Chelsea’s pretty visage. Perhaps it hadn’t only been the work of playground equipment but also that of her doting parents. Not bashful about playing catchy tunes in the park while dancing with their cutie, these three were a beautiful sight to behold.

No sooner had our session come to an end with Mom and Dad requesting a few last family portraits around the colorful play area. Upon walking our clients back towards their car we watched as little Chelsea was still on the move, back to how she appeared when we first laid eyes on her. Baby stroller packed with Hello Kitty and a large specially placed container of animal crackers, little miss independent continued on her merry way.

Thank you so much Littler family for contacting and giving us the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family.
